Projections measurement
Projection can be used as a term to describe a certain measurement, for example the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers publication Glossary of architectural hardware terms describes a projection by an example 'on a door knob or handrail the “projection” is the distance measured from the surface on which the item is mounted to the furthest point of the item from the surface.'
